How to Care for Marble

Marble is a soft and sensitive material that requires low maintenance. However, when maintenance is required, special precautions should be taken.

• Marble is easily weathered and stained. For ultimate material performance, please use your marble urn for indoor display only as the natural elements found outside will cause weathering to occur. It is also important to keep your marble urn a safe distance from any acids (including household acids such as citric acid or vinegar), cleaners, or oils.
• If a light dusting is in order, it is recommended to use a soft micro-fiber cloth that will attract and remove dust particles. It is important to note that even a light film of dirt can act as an abrasive to your marble urn so please refrain from rubbing the urn as it may cause scratching.
• If the urn requires a stronger cleaning than the mico-fiber cloth allows, it is recommended that only water be used. Simply rinse the urn off, cleanse with a soft cloth, and completely dry with a soft sham or towel. It is also important to note that, while our lid does provide secure sealing, it may not prevent moisture from seeping into the urn. Therefore, it is recommended that you remove all ashes and any keepsakes prior to rinsing the urn.
