Tissue Donation and Cremation
Almost everyone realizes that every year there are hundreds of lives that are saved by the donation of organs such as hearts and kidneys. But did you know that:
Donated tissues such as skin, bone, and heart valves can dramatically improve the quality of life for burn victims and save the life of cardiac patients who need a heart valve replacement?
Just ONE tissue donor can potentially benefit as many as 50 people?
The donation of tissues is possible when organ donation is not-this important fact helps many who wish to make a contribution, but cannot due to age or disease?
Many bereaved families take comfort in the knowledge that the death of their loved one has helped others to live.
Because organs and tissues are removed in procedures similar to surgery, and all incisions are closed at the conclusion of the surgery, an open casket funeral is possible after donation. Unlike organs, tissues can be donated up to 24 hours after a person's heart has stopped beating.
Organ and tissue donations help save lives, but only if you help. Take some time, visit the following web sites; talk it over with your family, clergy, or friends.

My husband, however, silently held in the pain for he knew she would not make it through the nigh....
Virginia Tech, Why God
By Linda Dipman
I could feel my Spirit lift, I felt as though I was floating. I looked down at the lifeless shell that was once my body. It looked empty, meaningless. Just as I began to ponder my death, a light shimmered down towards me. The light was so blinding that I tried to shield my eyes, but I couldn't.
I trembled from my head down to my feet. A supernatural strength engulfed my body as the sight captured my heart and opened my mind ....
