What size urn do I need?

Industry standard for choosing an urn size is to allow one cubic inch of space for each one pound of weight the deceased last weighed.

For Example:

  • A child who weighed 40lbs before death would require an urn which had a volume of 40 cubic inches or more.
  • An adult who weighed 240lbs before death would require an urn which had a volume of 240 cubic inches or more.

Conditions vary and the best way to choose an urn is to go by the size of the temporary urn.
